unhappy camper...Dec 16, 2008

While the appearance of the watch may intice you, I found this to be strictly a form over function watch. The pictures of the Suunto T1c watch online appears to be an attractive black and silver watch when in fact it's black with a white outer casing. This was a disappointment as well as finding it near impossible to read the time while driving my car. The black face is very difficult to read without suficient lighting. The heart rate functions seemed to work but are pointless if you're unable to read the face of this watch. I wouldn't recommend this model.

Great watch and HRMJun 06, 2011

I've been very happy with this watch. It syncs well with the chest strap and also works with the equipment at my local gym. The calories value reported by the watch generally agrees to what is reported by the cardio equipment to within a few percent.

bad itemApr 07, 2011
By mach1 The Suunto T1C watch was not a good item The watch looks great, but the watch was not reading my heart. The watch could not read or find belt. Check the belt and watch, read the manual, and their customer service could not help. I would not and have not bought another Suunto watch.

UnreliableMar 27, 2011
By S. Hennig I am an avid cyclist (road) and have owned the tc1 for about two years now. I purchased this watch as a training tool to watch my heart rate, calories burned etc... . I did not purchase this product for it's looks (I think the look sucks). I have had problems with this product ever since I bought it. The biggest problem is that the belt loses contact with the watch. This happens on a regular basis at least once per workout and its VERY frustrating. This problem became so bad that at times it quit working altogether. At that point I had to send in the watch & belt to get repaired......apparently the belt went bad and was replaced for free. Since the watch/belt was fixed, it still does not work reliably. The watch still loses connectivity with the belt once per workout for minutes at a time. I'm too cheap to just throw this thing into the trash and get something else, but trust me, as cycling season is starting to heat up, that day is soon to come. If you want to avoid frustrations during your workout, I suggest you look for another product.

Terrible, DO NOT buy this product!!!Sep 24, 2010

"Let the buyer BEWARE!!!"
I purchased the t1c only because I couldn't get my hands on a Polar HRM at the time and I've regretted it since opening the package. On my very first workout, my t1c failed. I could not get it to read my heart rate after about a minute into my workout. After stopping, readjusting the belt, reapplying moisture and restarting the training mode on the wristop unit, it still failed to work reliably.
While it looks nice on your wrist, the T1c has amounted to nothing but frustration for me. It links with the transmitter belt intermittently at best and reads inaccurately when I've needed it most. On top of all this, the unit IS NOT user-friendly. Navigating through the menus to review your training/workout results demands, in my opinion, an engineering degree of some variety.
Not a good product. I'm giving up on this thing and I'm now shopping for a Polar HRM.
