CoolDec 11, 2011
By Orange Monster Im about 6ft and 220lbs.
The XL is the correct size for me but it is somewhat tight in the shoulder area. Im outside all the time and this will be a good piece from 40-65 deg. Fahrenheit. A steal at 22$
Looks good too.
Love Helly Hanson for base layersApr 20, 2012
By Taos Skier Just a couple of years ago I started buying and using HH base layer products and they work great. They sell at least three varieties and this is about the thinnest one. Good for when you want to just wear it as a shirt in moderate temperatures and as a base layer for skiing when it isn't too cold. I also have the ones that add the merino wool and the ones that are for warm temperatures and have found you can do things such as us the merino wool layer over this one for more warmth than either by itself.
I use this particular one for biking from time to time (in white) and it keeps me very cool as it absorbs about no heat from the sun at all.
The tight fit is on purpose and I like the way that helps wick the sweat off you. Overall a shirt that is very adaptable to a wide range of conditions.

By Adz I have a couple of these base layers and always use them for skiing trips. I think they are absolutely fit for purpose and have never let me down.
Bad quality controlDec 09, 2011
By turtle.boy I've been a fan of Helly Hansen and I bought this base layer shirt direct from Amazon about 9 months ago. I just open the box today and found a few holes on the chest. Really bad quality control. Will not buy from Helly Hansen again.

not as good as I hopedFeb 05, 2011
By C This is about "Helly Hansen Men's Stripe Crew Black".
The feeling is not very nice (it will not let you forget it's plastic...). It gets a bit smelly even after brief wearing. The sleeves do not fit ok and the seams at the shoulder are a little tight. It has thin elastic rubber fibers in the cuffs; more than half of them snapped after less than a week... Could be ok for ~20 USD. I payed ~40 :-/
