For me, it works great for the whole family for use with audio books, radio shows, and spoken word materials. Very handy. I liked the fact that the speakers tilt, adapting to placement needs. This isn't for listening to fine symphonies, but like I said, my use is mostly with spoken word shows and the volume has been quite adequate for us from the two triple A batteries. I have used mine very often for close to three years under a variety of environmental conditions. Because of how long my individual product has lasted, I am giving it a 5 star rating. I also liked the shape and size, but some may prefer a boxy shape for stability. If you have modest sound fidelity needs, and aren't listening on a highway at 65 with the car windows down, this may be a good product to consider for the price.

I bought these because I don't always want to have my headphones on while listening to my ipod. For under $5 they are great. The sound quality is not fantastic, but for a cheap pair of speakers, it's fine. I bought mine at Big Lots and only discovered that they were on amazon because my co-worker was looking for his own set...he borrows mine all of the time.

Great Little Speakers for the PriceMar 10, 2009

First of all, I expected no miracles with achieving high fidelity with these cheap speakers. Compared to other similar products, this speaker is stereo and provides loud volume output. I bought this portable speaker for my Netbook with very low speaker volume, and it works like a charm! Speakers are small (fits in your palm) and requires 2 AAA batteries. I was so happy with this speaker I just purchased a second as a backup!

This product was cheap and does exactly what I need. The sounds is not the best in the world but it is good. It would be good to laying out at the pool or the beach if you did want a big radio to wear headphones.

This little thing costs almost nothing and you can get your usage out of it. I had one velcroed to my dash board as my stereo system had been stolen. After about six months of hard core use and lousy care it finally started to not work so well. I went to toys'r'us where I bought my kinyo. They were out and were selling another brand. That one didn't work half as well. Six dollars for music on the go is worth it.
